Request Search Support
For immediate danger or a missing-person emergency, call 911 first. This form is not an emergency dispatch service and does not guarantee an immediate response.
For coordinated search inquiries, include the location, lead agency, and a contact person.
Use emergency channels first
For immediate danger or a missing-person emergency, call 911 first. This form is not an emergency dispatch service and does not guarantee an immediate response. Do not delay reporting an emergency while waiting for an email or form reply. A drone inquiry is separate from activating public safety resources, and submitting a request does not mean an aircraft or operator has been dispatched.
Drone support must be coordinated with the agency or person directing the search. Independent flights can interfere with emergency aircraft and other responders. If you are a family member or volunteer, provide the lead agency contact when known and follow official instructions. Do not enter restricted areas, approach hazards, or launch a drone into an active response without appropriate coordination.
Information for a coordinated search inquiry
Provide the general search location, the lead agency, the incident contact, and a reliable way for that person to be reached. Explain the requested role for aerial support and whether an incident command structure is already in place. Include the approximate search area, terrain, access limitations, and known hazards such as power lines, roads, water, or nearby aviation activity.
Share only information necessary to establish coordination. Avoid placing sensitive medical information, private identifying details, or unverified allegations in this initial form. Relevant incident details can be discussed through an appropriate channel with authorized personnel. State whether other aircraft or drones are operating, but do not assume that this information replaces direct coordination with the response lead.
Availability and operational limits
Any proposed flight depends on operator availability, weather, airspace requirements, safe access, and coordination with responders. Aerial imagery cannot guarantee that a person or object will be located. Tree cover, structures, terrain, visibility, and the subject's location can limit what a drone can observe. Do not assume that a particular sensor or specialist capability is available without confirmation.
If AIRBURST responds, clarify the requested task, who authorizes it, communications, and any scope or cost arrangements before deployment. Continue using official emergency channels for urgent updates rather than relying on this form for time-critical instructions.
Search support questions
Does this form dispatch emergency responders?
No. Call 911 for an emergency. This form is for inquiries about coordinated drone support and is not continuously monitored emergency dispatch.
Can a private individual request help?
You can submit an inquiry, but active search operations require coordination with the responsible agency or search lead. Include that contact if available.
Is a flight or search result guaranteed?
No. Availability and safe operating conditions must be assessed. A drone is one possible observation tool, not a replacement for trained responders or an assurance of a successful search.
